After waking to find last night’s condom in the toilet, awkward 21-year-old “Comet” is late for her period. Now anxiously awaiting Aunt Flow, she must spend a week as an all-girls summer camp counselor. At Camp Griffith she meets 11-year-old Sasha and the two discover they have more to learn from each other than they initially thought.
Strawberry Week is a tender coming-of-age story about confronting menstrual shame. Where does it come from? Why do we carry it into adulthood? How can we empower young menstruators to feel at home in their bodies?
From concept to final cut, this film was made by an entirely female-identifying cast and crew. We were proud to partner with Aunt Flow, a company committed to supplying businesses, schools, and public spaces with free pads and tampons.
